I believe that couples need to have respect for one another and also be friends. I got married in April and although i am young (turned 23 yesterday), I would say that I know a bit about relationships. My husband and I have been friends since we were like 13 and as friends we have been there for each other thru the good the bad and the extremely ugly. So our friendship is very important to me and I would say that if you treat the other person the way you want to be treated, are understanding, forgiving and realistic… Read more »

tammy: People divorce because people don’t want the hassle of a relationship. They can’t survive adversity. Problem is people are married at such a young age that they don’t know how to handle these things. One has to be spiritually mature before they can get married.

this is kind of a sore subject for me. but i agree with john and divacon. In addition… the couple has to want the relationship to work and realize that you are with each other..not im with you now and if something pops up i am going to drop the relationship. Couples must put effort into their relationship for it to work. If only one person if putting in effort thats not enough. one more thing….can we just talk about how quick people are jump at getting a divorce? idk nowadays everyone draws for the divorce papers and dont try… Read more »
Tammmy23, it does seem like now of days couples first solution to having a rough patch in there marriage is divorce. They don’t know the term “Ride it out to see what the ends gone be”. However, if a spouse if verbally or physically abusive, or a habitual cheater, then I see why. Though, love isn’t the same as it use to be, ppl now dont value love, honor, and respect like they use to in the old’n day. A lot has to do with up bringing and also, it has to do with how they truly feel for one… Read more »

Wow, good question, I think a couple that is actively in the church together is KEY! I believe you can only do so much and that prayer and doing things together as a family and showing each other how you need each other is critical! But good question!

I agree with John, however, I would like to add a few things. The man must be honest, sincerely, and loving. The woman, must take care of her man and make sure she handles her “Business”. They both must be loving toward each and supportive!
MissBarbie23, lol I like how you did the “Business”, which is absolutely true as long as you don’t feel disrespected or unconformable then its fine. I believe you have to do the same things “you did to get them to keep them”

What makes a couple together?
Simple. Respect, money and love.
A man has to be compassionate to his soulmate.
A wife has to be suppportive to her man. A man should be supportive of his wife’s goals.
Both have to work to provide income to live together. That’s a must.
Trust, Communication, and Support! I believe the rest will follow….if its ordained to be.
Popoff, wow! simply put but powerful! Thanks so much for the insight n’ commenting!
