Hi Ladies n’ Gents,
I could use some help! I have been doing a lot of research lately on natural hair n’ I have been hearing the term “Co-Washing” lately…Well I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS IS!!! Someone please explain! What the hell is co-washing?
Speak On IT!!!
*Besos*
Ro provided a great explination but plese keep in mind that all conditioners are not created equally. Like shampoos, conditioners can also contain sulfates so be sure to read the labels. Also, depending on the conditioner you choose, you may still need to use a different product for deep conditioning.
Thanks Anitra, I have read up on Sulfates a lot here recently, I know to steer away from them, lol thanks a bunch
Thanks for asking this question b/c I had no idea what it was either! Lol
LOL, np Helen!
The above explanation is perfect. I am relaxed and co-washing is definitely apart of my regimen since I workout on a regular basis. Instead of washing my hair with oil-stripping shampoo (which I don’t anyway, since I use a sulfate free shampoo) I co-wash to maintain moisture.
OOOOH OK, thanks tiffany ok so that’s one of the points of co-washing to help keep in the moisture! Thanks so much babes!
Co-washing is simply washing with conditioner versus shampoo. Women choose to co-wash because it cleanes the scalp & loosens dirt without stripping oil from the hair that may make your hair dry. Check out curlynikki.com or longhaircareforum.com.
OOOOOOH OK, thanks ro, yes I have just found out about curlynikki like two weeks ago, I ill definitely look into the other one! Thanks doll!
