Clean beauty is the way of the future and many brands are moving away from products that are harmful to the environment, tests on animals, ect. Chanel just launched N°1 de Chanel, a clean luxury beauty line that includes skincare, makeup, and fragrance. To make it even better, it’s sold at Ulta, which is a store that has a price point from high to low—so Chanel can reach a new clientele.
Particularly people that maybe never thought they could own a piece of luxury (or just don’t care to) and the new sought after generation, gen z (us millennials are a thing of the past! Poor us). It seems a bit humbling for the iconic brand Chanel to be in a non-high end department store but if they—like most brands—want to remain relevant this was a smart move! The star ingredient in the line is the extract from the red camellia flower, which is in all 9 of their products. Based on Chanels research, the flower targets the first sign of aging, making these products for gen z and those on the cusps of being a millennial. With focus on sustainability, using eco-friendly materials, and having a holistic approach, Chanel has made a huge splash in the clean beauty space. I’m sure this is just the beginning for what is to come from the brand.
