1. What inspired you to create Jseverydayfashion.com?
“I started J’s Everyday Fashion on a whim – I was posting pictures of my outfits on Facebook for fun and a friend suggested I start a fashion page. I threw it together in a couple hours and thought it would just be a page for my friends, but I was immediately blown away by the response. I started to realize that there is a huge lack of obtainable fashion inspiration out there, so I set out to be the bridge the gap between fashion fantasy and what women wear in real life. I have been really inspired by all of the emails and notes that I receive – people who didn’t think they could be fashionable are going out and trying new things! We all deserve to feel beautiful, so I’m really passionate about spreading the news that you don’t need tons of time or money to look great everyday.”
2. Where are your favorite places to shop n’ why?
“I think Forever 21 and H&M are really knocking it out of the park as far as offering inexpensive and stylish clothing. I also love shopping Banana Republic and Gap for the insane sales they have!”
3. Do you ever find it challenging to not spend over your $250.00 a month budget?
“For my lifestyle, $250/month is plenty. Since I started the blog, there is more pressure to feature new things so sometimes I feel limited by my budget. I never allow myself to cheat though, and I just take it as a challenge to dig deeper into my closet and my creativity.”
4. What accessory do you feel can always be the finishing touch to an ensemble n’ tie it together?
“It’s definitely a tie between jewelry and belts. I own huge amounts of both, because they are such an inexpensive and effective way to totally change up an outfit. A belt can change the shape of your clothing dramatically, and jewelry is a great way to add color or sparkle.”
5. Where do you want to take Jseverydayfashion.com in the few years?
“I have some pretty big aspirations for the website that I would love see come to fruition, but really for me it’s just about the everyday interaction – inspiring women to try something new and breaking stereotypes that fashion has to be expensive and impractical.”
6. What advice would you give to an up-and-coming blogger?
“Content is key. Always concentrate on coming up with original ideas and engaging content first, and worry about finding fans second. Be true to yourself and write about what you know, and most of all – love what you do! It’s a tremendous amount of work with little payoff. Doing it because you love it is the best motivation.”
7. What shop.cmichellestyles.com item could you see yourself wearing with your next ensemble?
“I seriously can’t get enough turquoise jewelry and the “Daisy” necklace is such a statement piece – it would easily transform any outfit!”
