Hi!! When my hair was curly at the roots and straight at the ends, I would use flexi rods to curl my hair, because I didnt want to cut(Big Chop)my hair at the time. So I transitioned with that style for 1 year until my hair was fully curly or Nappy as I would say 🙂 lol.
LOL, great advice Jessica! Thank you, I will look into flexi rods
Hi Cmichelle, love your videos. I have been natural for 3 years. Heat damage is a beast. My advice to you is to do a BIG CHOP. You have too much straight pieces. Twist-outs/braid-outs, bantu-knots tend to be good styles for transitioning. None of those really pleased me. Doing the BIG CHOP was awesome for me. In the early part of Feb. I BIG CHOPPED again because I wanted a Halle Berry style. By this time, my hair was bra strap length. I wanted a change and absolutely love it short. It’s a “growth”process inward and outward. GREAT LUCK!
Thank you so much Racquel! Yes, I really want to try bantu-knots, those are really beautiful! But dang girl, you have some strength for cutting your hair! I am so happy that you are happy with your hair.
look at you all afro chic on the last day of black history month #iseeyou
if you are really cutting your hair, I’ll go with and we can both get cut (
RB, thank you doll!
Girl it’s ok, you rocked it at the end though! Nothing can keep you down!
Thank you so much Gale
I think you look great with short hair judging from when you pulled your hair back.
Awww thank you Kay!

Danielle, you are awesome! Thank you so much for taking the time to find those for me.
I think if maybe you tried a protein treatment on your hair it will help revert some of those straight pieces to curly. I can’t remember who I saw try this I want to say it was taren from youtube. If it wasn’t her then I think I read it on someones blog. Like you said in your video, I think if you got control over those straight pieces whether it be cutting them or the protein treatment you will get better results. Good luck : )
You are so beautiful! Your mistakes even look beautiful! But you know if you just want to have curly hair, you can just use Hair Milk by Carol’s Daughter. It works on my daughter’s hair. You just apply a “dime” size amount to damp hair and then style. It really only takes a “dime” size too. We got the 2 oz bottle and it has lasted us for several months.
Awwwww thank you sooo much Lakoal, you are so sweet! I have been wanting to try Carols Daughter “Hair Milk” for a while so knowing that it works, I am very happy about that, lets just hope it works for me
