Plant-Based Diet…Why I Don’t Eat Meat!

Hey,

It’s been one full week of me not eating meat. At first I thought it would be hard because that’s what I am accustomed too. After doing research on how and what to eat its not so hard. Another thing I realized is that it’s not that expensive either. People would say it costs so much to eat healthy but in actuality it doesn’t. Some things I have found for a recipe for example vegetable broth was $4 dollars and I’m like that’s a bit high but other than that its pretty cool.

To be honest, I am not a tree hugger hippie chick at all but I do feel bad for the animals. Watching documentaries like Cowspiracy, Forks over Knives, or What the Health add more fuel to the fire! However, prior to watching those documentaries the thought of eliminating meat has been on my mind for weeks!! I finally decided to take the plunge but I am not ready to call myself a vegetarian. Maybe I am not ready incase of a Meat-lapse or just overall commitment issues (j/k). Anyway, I just am not ready for a title LOL. I have been lactose intolerant for over 2 years now and I only ate cheese on meat or salad. So it’s not like I am an avid cheese consumer either. UGH! So I minus well claim vegetarian but its just…makes it so serious! I just claim I eat a plant based diet. There You go! I eat a Plant-Based Diet! Now…I am only one week in! There are tons of new foods, recipes, and things to try! I am excited about this journey and I will update you guys on my new findings.

Vegetarian Salad

Beginning with this salad I made! It is full of Spinach, Scallions, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Tomatoes, Avocados, Mandarin Oranges, Beets, and a little lime juice for taste! It was bomb! After I ate it, I felt great and not sluggish at all! Which brings me too…

This week of no meat I have noticed a few things:
1. My skin has its glow back…I used to have oily skin and I wanted it back! Ppl with oily skin show less signs of aging usually.

2. I feel less hungry! I don’t consume as much as I used too

3. I am not groggy after I eat! No more itis for me!

4. I feel SOOOOO MUCH LIGHTER!!!

5. My digestion is LIT! I mean you will be expelling old waste out of your body you didn’t know you had!

6. I have way more energy

7. I just don’t feel the same! I realize my body is way more responsive to this type of eating
