Hi Ladies n’ Gents,
I wanted to share with you my review on my top 5 face serums! Over the last year or so I have made it a point to try out a few serums n’ see how I like them. I know many of you are thinking 5 serums in a year? How can you do that? Well…1 serum I use just at night, another I use around my eyes n’ the other three I rotated throughout the year for about 4 months each…here are my thoughts…
1. Origins: Dr. Mega Bright Serum
To begin this serum smells amazing. It is moderately priced around $55 for the small bottle n’ $75 for the bigger one. Dr. Weils serum is plant based n’ it works to brighten the skin, lighten dark spots, n’ even out the skin tone. If you are looking for something that reduces lines n’ wrinkles this in not the serum for you.
2. Nars Optimal Brightening Concentrate
Ok, so I have been using this serum for about a week n’ I like it so far. Once you put the serum on your fingers you will see the iridescent color, which gives your skin a polished look. If you wanted to you could put on your moisturizer, gloss, n’mascara only after using this serum n’ be good to go! Once you put on your foundation you will have beautiful radiant skin that looks so natural. I got many compliments on my skin since I started using this product. Similar to the origins serum its purpose is to brighten dark spots n’ make your skin have a healthier appearance! However, the only different is the glow you get with the Nars Serum, it is also alcohol n’ fragrance free! There is only one size of this product the cost is $74.
3. Clarins Multi-Active Skin Renewal Serum
I mainly use this serum to help prevent lines n’ wrinkles. One day I was looking in the mirror n’ almost lost it when I saw a few wrinkles near my eyes! Immediately, I researched a few serums n’ decided on this one because it said exactly was I was looking for: ” Youth boosting serum that prevents early signs of LINES AND WRINKLES” UGH! I only put it around my eye area n’ crows feet. I do not put it underneath my eyes but near it. The multi-active serum has a light scent. I truly do love this one, it is worth the $70.
4. Esteé Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum
By far this is my favorite serum that I use in my night routine! I have yet to find something comparable! I absolutely love how my skin feels the morning after I use it! My skin looks so hydrated n’ refreshed. This serum makes me look like I get 8 hours of sleep (when I only get 5 LOL). A little goes a long way as well. This is a must have for your night time routine! There is a light scent to it n’ it cost $79 for the small bottle n’ $120 for the large one.
5. Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate
Génifique is my ABSOLUTE favorite serum! This is the only product where I have seen results immediately! I use this in my day time routine! Not only does it smell beautiful but it does exactly what it says it is going to do. You really should try it for yourself! I can not say enough about it! There are two different sizes the smallest costing around $80 n’ the largest $100.
SO! Currently I am using the Nars n’ Esteé Lauder serums. I can still use the Genefique (but I am out!) because it does something totally different than the Nars concentrate. As you can tell I am a TRUE product junkie, however I stand by each n’ every one of these products I hope this post helps you guys choose a serum that fits your needs.
OH! Please keep in mind the order that you should care your face: Cleanse, mask/exfoliator (once or twice a week only), tone, serum, moisturizer. Know that in order for your serums and moisturizer to penetrate deeper into the skin you need to follow these steps. If you don’t the products will just sit onto of your skin if you don’t cleanse and tone, it will take longer for the product to reach the skin.
*Besos*
