What’s In My Kit? Mascara Wands!

Hi Ladies n’ Gents,

It is super important to have individual mascara wands in your kit! Mainly for sanitary purposes! I purchase mine from a local beauty supply store, but I am currently looking into buying them wholesale. Purchasing them wholesale is cheaper in the long run. I found a company called qosmedix.com n’ I will let you know more about them in the future.

The wands come in all different shapes n’ sizes, for my clients I love to use the fuller brush.  The fuller brushes give the lashes volume, lift, separate, n’ help them look fuller!

For my clients I use a different wand per time of use and person. I usually like to apply two thick coats. For example, I have a tube of mascara, I never use the applicator that it comes with. Whenever, I have a client, I take off the top of the mascara n’ dip the wand inside the tube. Once I apply it on my client, I throw it away, even if I need more product! In the case that I need more, I take out a ENTIRELY NEW WAND! It is extremely gross to double dip!

I hope you artist add these to your kits! It’s a NECESSITY! Helps reduces germs n’ bacteria! The last thing you want is a client to get an infection n’ blame it on you! Cover your ask n’ invest in some wands!

I hope this helped!

*Besos*

It was actually ok. They need work when it comes to matching foundation but overall it was nice. I was really pleased with how my eyes came out.

Clearly this topic is needed. I went to an establishment today and had my makeup done. Guess what? No disposables wands for the mascara. I really wanted to say something but I did not. I guess you are right not all professionals know this. And no I will not publicly reveal the name of the establishment but C. Michelle if you want to know inbox me and I will share.

@ C. Michelle – Double dipping is just UNSANITARY ! U would think a REAL MUA, definitely should know that….LOL ! What I do on ALL my CLIENT ONLY kits, is cut off the WANDS ON THE ACTUALLY Mascara and Lipgloss tubes. This has helped me in remembering… no Double Dipping & kinda gives the Client an assurance that “I do have an MUA, that is ON POINT in being sanitary ! P.S. – If its a mascara or lipgloss I really LOVE…I just buy 2 of that same product (whn i have the $), cut off the tube applicator… Read more »

I thought that the use of disposable applicators would be a given in this industry. I have both disposable mascara wands and lip brushes as part of my kit.
