1.Tell us about Hawa Cosmetics Academy n’ what the experience of a new student would be like?

Hawa Cosmetics Academy is a 2 wk Training to learn the tricks of the trade with a Professional Makeup artist. Its like a “Boot Camp” training where you learn all the skills of a sales/ makeup artist. The experience of a new student would be quite informal as far as the learning techniques of a makeup artist.

2. After being in the industry for 18 years, what made you decide to branch out n’ create Hawa Cosmetics?

What made me branch out was women like you on a day to day base would tell me what they wanted in makeup (color , texture, and benefits) and with all the years of women poring into me it gave me the knowledge of what to pick for my line of cosmetics. The line itself is based on women favorite picks.

3. What makeup companies have you worked for? n’ who was your fav?

I’ve worked for major Estee Lauder Company’s.. As we know it, Estee Lauder owns a bulk of the cosmetic brands…MY Fav… Well I’d have to say working for Bobbi Brown cosmetics was the BEST experience ever!!! What she stands for as an Artist, women and entrepreneur is just so amazing to me!!!

4. What would you say is the most important item a makeup artist should have in their kits?

The most important item a makeup artist should have in her kit would be a great concealer and foundation Palette.

5. When applying makeup on my clients, I begin with the eyes, what is your makeup application order?

I start with Foundation, concealer, powder, eyes, cheeks, and lips.

6. What was your biggest challenge when creating Hawa Cosmetics?

My biggest challenge was finding out what was going to make me different from the other makeup lines

7. What is your ultimate goal for your business?

The ultimate goal for Hawa Cosmetics is to franchise..

8. What Advise would you give to a makeup artist both new n’ old?

Love What You Do.. It Shows!
